YOUR LIFE YOUR STORY… unleashing the power of relationships

Your Life Your Story, now a small charity is managed by a group of 5 trustees who are care experienced adults, caregivers or both. We host an annual literary event that brings care experienced adults and caregivers together with published authors, poets and artists to learn the techniques of storytelling through the arts in a therapeutically supported environment. We perform at conferences and deliver life story workshops to children, young people and training to professionals. We offer this in recognition of the scientifically proven link between childhood adversity, social isolation, adult mental health and wellbeing.

Many Your Life Your Story participants remain connected and our community has grown nationally since the first event in the Autumn of 2017. During 2018 the first Your Life Your Story inspired book was published, in 2019 we performed at the joint children’s conference hosted by The Consortium for Therapeutic Communities and Glyndwr University and facilitated a workshop at the international annual TCTC conference in Windsor.

Your Life Your Story is home to a hugely diverse community with a shared identity, and as our collective voice grows louder so does our determination to make a positive contribution to improving services for vulnerable children and the adult’s they become through mutually rewarding relationships reclaimed through the shared narrative of lived experience.
